Greening the desert!

Rynhardt, a good friend and fellow South African living in london, just showed me an awesome video about a group of people that have taken on a project, where they are have taken a baron piece of land in the desert and turned into in a thriving showcase for what can be done with some clever permaculture.

Here is an excerpt from their project page:
"This is just one example of how permaculture can transform the environment, and, in so doing, dramatically change lives. By evidencing the dramatic transformation possible in the world’s worst agricultural scenarios, we hope to make people stand up and listen."

After a big of digging, i managed to find a link to their site (http://www.permaculture.org.au) and found the link for the "greening the desert" project page. It looks like these guys are doing some really impressive stuff with permaculture, so much so that i think i am going to create a dedicate project page promoting their work!

Checkout the video below, or read more about the project here.

Congrats Obama: Lets do it together!

After 8 long years of Bush - a fresh start. Let's seize this historic moment to send a flood of global messages to Obama. Our message and the number of signers, as well as all our personal messages, will be displayed on a giant wall in the heart of Washington DC. Over the next 48 hours, the wall could become a focal point for US media reporting on global reactions to the Obama win. A massive global response will help make this a major moment of unity and reconciliation between the US and the world. Let's get to a million!
