Entertainment - a means of forgetting?

What is entertainment? Apart from being a huge, multi-faceted, multi-billion dollar industry what is it? Things that are entertaining used to be called past-times because that's what they do - pass time. Yet everyone says "Life's short" so can we really afford just to pass time? Doesn't every moment count?

The first step on the path of change

Have you noticed that whenever we decide we want to change something we feel inspired to something "good"? But what is good? How do we know that what starts with our good intentions won't have unintended bad results?

Well, we don't know. But this is probably why the major spiritual traditions don't start their spiritual paths with an exhortation to go out and do good.

How can we inspire change?

I don't know about you but over the years I've tried to make changes to myself, my lifestyle, my habits etc. It's hard. Anyone who has ever made a New Year's Resolution knows just how hard it can be. So if we find it hard to change ourselves how can we change the behaviour etc., of others?

First I'd like to congratulate Chris and the team for starting this site. Chris inspires me. He has drive and enthusiasm and when life throws him a curve ball he just hits it right back out of the park. I've been thinking about what qualities inspire people and this is what I've come up with...
